At the site of ACRRES common agricultural work is performed. A machine that is used a lot for these activities is the forklift truck. There are forklift trucks that are powered by diesel, electricity and, to a lesser extent, hydrogen. The advantage of a diesel forklift truck is that the filling of fuel goes quickly. The advantage of an electrical powered forklift truck is that it doesn’t emit greenhouse gasses. The hydrogen forklift truck has the best of both worlds and combines these advantages. In Lelystad we have our own hydrogen forklift truck that is used for agricultural activities. Additional to the truck we also have our own hydrogen filling station so the forklift truck can immediately be filled when run out of fuel. The application is equal to the activities as if commercial business would perform them. This way we can gain experience with the hydrogen forklift truck and test the application in the field.
